I took every chance to decrease expenses associated with the interview. Despite having a positive experience interviewing, meeting faculty, and giving the teaching demonstration, the department called all of my references and then emailed me a day later to say that they had canceled the search–due to COVIDdespite the glowing recommendations. Additionally, it has been hell to receive reimbursement for those pre-approved expenses, and Accounts Payable has used every opportunity to reimburse far less than previously indicated.
Why waste my time and my references’ time for a position that they weren’t sure they would fill anyway, only to avoid reimbursement at all costs at the end of the day? The department was professional and accommodating; on the other hand, HR has been unprofessional and in need of a lesson on collegiality.

His mother left his family when he was 6 years old and Abed assumed his father blamed him for it.
This created distance between them and resulted in Abed alienating himself further by immersing himself in American pop-culture. His father allowed him to enroll at Greendale Community College only so he could take classes which would help Abed one day take over his dad’s falafel restaurant.

I would like to share my views on how we Muslim students in different schools whether in Secondary or university levels should live to save reputation of our beautiful religion Islam. Somewhere along your academic journey, you decided your search for intellectual validation was more important than the actual exchange of information. Now how do you expect to actually learn anything? American society tells men, but especially white men, that their opinions have merit and that their voice is valuable, but after four years of listening to white boys in college, I am not so convinced. In my time at Dickinson I have listened to probably hundreds of white boys talk.
It feels incessant. The list of what white boys think they are qualified to talk about is endless. Something very few of them seem to understand is that their ill-informed, uncritical opinions do not constitute truth. I cannot describe to you how frustrating it is to be forced to listen to a white boy explain his take on the Black experience in the Obama-era. In what world would your understanding of my life carry more weight than my understanding?
Unfortunately, it is this world, where white men debate the pain of other people for fun and then take away their rights.

Guided by the principle that each religious tradition is an equally valued part of our community, religious and spiritual programs support the multi-faith spiritual life of all religious and philisophical traditions present at Manhattanville College. The Manhattanville College community has a variety of options for expressing themselves, and sharing their beliefs, insights, and traditions. Each is inspired by a unique vision of the divine and has a distinct cultural identity.
At the same time, each perceives the divine as the source of unity and peace. The challenge is to preserve their religious and cultural uniqueness without letting it operate as a cause of narrow and divisive sectarianism that contradicts the vision of unity and peace. It is a question of whether the healing light of religious vision will overcome the social and ideological issues that underline much of the conflict between religions.

Muslims believe that Islam is the complete and universal version of a primordial faith that was revealed many times before through prophets, including Adam , Abraham , Moses , and Jesus. From a historical point of view, Islam originated in early 7th century CE in the Arabian Peninsula , in Mecca, and by the 8th century, the Umayyad Caliphate extended from Iberia in the west to the Indus River in the east.
The Islamic Golden Age refers to the period traditionally dated from the 8th century to the 13th century, during the Abbasid Caliphate , when much of the historically Muslim world was experiencing a scientific , economic , and cultural flourishing. In a religious context, it means “voluntary submission’ to God”. Islam was historically itself called Mohammedanism in the English-speaking world. This term has fallen out of use and is sometimes said to be offensive , as it suggests that a human being, rather than God, is central to Muslims’ religion, parallel to Buddha in Buddhism.
